Heron Ridge opened in the spring of 1999 and was the first new public golf course in Virginia Beach in over 10 years. This Fred Couples signature course features 13 holes with water hazards or natural wetlands. The front nine winds links-style through rolling hills with strategically-placed bunkers and water hazards. The back nine shifts to mature stands of oaks, beeches and more water. It measures 7,010 yards from the “Boom-Boom” tees (Fred Couples’ nickname). Four other sets of tees on every hole insure that golfers of all skill level will be put to the test.
